Police are looking for an elderly Sydney man who went missing from Liverpool Hospital after telling staff he was going to buy a chocolate bar.
Harry Bell, 72, was last seen on Sunday when he left his ward to get a chocolate bar. He'd been admitted to hospital the day before for treatment for a number of medical conditions.
Police said nursing staff called police when Mr Bell did not return to his ward, but a search did not turn up any sign of him. Mr Bell's family formally reported him missing to police about 8.30pm that night. Police then searched the Liverpool area, where he'd been living in a nursing home, and his old neighbourhood in Newtown. They are worried about Mr Bell because of his age and medical issues, which require medication. He is missing part of the middle finger on his right hand and was last seen wearing brown trousers and a black jumper. [rc]
