JAPAN: 79-year-old man strangled by wife after argument

. HAKODATE, Japan / Japan Today / January 19, 2009 A 68-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday accused of strangling her husband with a towel in their home in Hakodate City. Harumi Shibuya, a 68-year-old resident of the town of Hiyoshi, is suspected of killing her husband at around 4 a.m. Sunday. She told police her husband had been drinking the night before, and he went to bed but got up again later complaining about the noise, grabbed her and became abusive. Shibuya told police her husband often became abusive when drinking, and that she could no longer continue living the way they did. She admitted to killing her husband and said she also intended to kill herself, police said. © 2009 GPlusMedia
