SRI LANKA: VIP treatment for senior citizens?

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (Daily News), August 18, 2008: By Shirley Wijesinghe The Government has notified all State establishments to pay especial attention on senior citizens when they arrive for official matters. The instructions were given through a circular issued by the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry to all heads of ministries, departments, corporations, statutory boards, and authorities recently. Some important decisions including establishment of pension units in the ground floors of the divisional secretariats for the convenience of senior citizens, were also taken.
