INDIA: Three 'cops' rob senior citizen

MUMBAI (The Times of India), August 18, 2008: Three unidentified men posing as policemen robbed a senior citizen of her jewellery in Andheri East on Sunday. According to the 60-year-old complainant, Vimal Lodha, these "policemen duped her into taking off all her ornaments and putting them into a plastic bag". The gang reportedly told her that that area near Rashmi Building in J B Nagar was not a very safe place and she should not be wearing such expensive jewellery. When Lodha had collected everything in a bag, the three snatched it from her and fled. The police have appealed to citizens to be careful and not to fall for such tricks.
