THAILAND: Englishman, 64, Stabs Thai Wife,26, in Jealous Rage

PATTAYA, Thailand (Pattaya Daily News), July 8, 2006: A drunken British National stabbed his Thai wife in front of Sunny Inn Hotel in Pattaya, popular seaside holiday town, in a jealous rage after finding out she hasn‘t been faithful. Miss Chawee Pimasri, age 26, lying in a pool of blood, had a severe stab wound to her chest and was in critical condition. The police had her immediately sent to Pattaya Memorial Hospital. Mr. Denis Gill, aged 64, a British National, and also her husband, had apparently pulled out an 8” knife and stabbed his wife and fled the scene, stabbing himself as he ran back to the hotel. Police found Denis in a drunked state, sitting in a pool of his own blood, holding the knife he used to commit the crime. An interpreter and a doctor from Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital were called in to help but had no luck. They were worried he would die from massive blood loss. Thirty minutes later police were able to take the knife and he was taken in an ambulance to Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital where it was stated that Miss Chawee Pimasri, wife of Denis, had died from injuries. Denis had been living with his Thai wife for the last six months, and he often traveled back to England. Recently he sent his wife 600,000 Baht to invest in Apple Beer Bar, located 100 meters away from the hotel. When he was not in Thailand, he sent her between 40-50,000 Baht a month to live on. Since Denis had returned to Pattaya on June 26 his wife had not had sex with him. While he was gone, his wife had managed the bar and many foreign men made passes at her. However, Denis become very jealous when he found out that his wife was dating a Thai man. This was the main reason for the argument. Denis is being held in police custody until he goes to trial for his crime. By Scott Bedley Pattaya Daily News
