INDIA: Directory Published of Old Age Homes in Chennai

CHENNAI (The Hindu), February 16, 2004: THE VISHRANTHI Charitable Trust has published a directory, which lists all the old age homes located in and around Chennai. The compilation is expected to serve as a guide for senior citizens and provides details such as the kinds of accommodation (dormitory, single rooms), medical services and recreation facilities available in the city's old age homes. The directory listing has been classified on the basis of free and paid homes, and also has an alphabetical index of homes. The book was released by V. Narayanan of the Chennai Willingdon Corporate Foundation at a function organised by the Confederation of Indian Organisations for Service and Advocacy (CIOSA). The directory, considered the first to compile data about old age homes, has been put together by Savithri Vaithi, chairperson of Vishranthi. The directory is available at Vishranthi, 4/227, MGR Salai, Palavakkam, Ph: 24490972. © Copyright 2000 - 2006 The Hindu
