Circling the globe
By Freda Freeman, The Orange County Register
Whether traveling by limo, plane, or ship, south Orange County residents are on the go. Where to?
Gary and Nancy Bibler of Lake Forest recently returned from a 10-day Mediterranean cruise. They traveled from Athens, Greece to Rome, Italy on the Oceania Cruise Line.
Here they are pictured in front of the Coliseum in Rome. The all-expense paid trip was given to Nancy Bibler as a retirement gift from the Frome Family, which owns and manages industrial warehouses in several counties.
Nancy Bibler, who retired in January, worked as the company's office manager for 13 years. She says, it was truly "the retirement gift of a lifetime."
This photo was taken while on their up-close ferry excursion through the Mira Flores Locks. Pictured are Richard are Helen Wilson, left, Bobbe Saunders of Lake Forest, Joann and Jim Barnes of Porterville, and Kay Workman of Mission Viejo.
The locks were opened in 1914 and serve as a major waterway to transport cargo and passengers between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Maureen and Tim Kelley of Mission Viejo recently cruised aboard the Regent Seven Seas Mariner on its Circle South America 2011 excursion for 71 days.
Here they are pictured in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
