KOREA: She Delivers Flowers to Live-Alone Seniors for Parents' Day

Actress and florist Kong Hyun-joo put her skills to work over the weekend to make flower baskets for senior citizens who live alone.

Kong arranged the baskets with carnations from Friday to Sunday and delivered them with thank-you notes to the elderly as Parent's Day gifts.

"I made the baskets to show my gratitude and respect for elderly parents who live alone," she said. "I hope this leads to greater awareness of single elderly households."

Kong has taken part in other charity programs recently, including donating the proceeds from sales of her flower arrangements to the Join Together Society, which works toward reducing famine, illness and illiteracy worldwide.
