At 70, Samuel Goh still cut a dashing figure in a bridegroom’s suit when he tied the knot yesterday with Sim Ang Choo – his 64-year-old sweetheart.
They were married during a ceremony at the Sungai Dua Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged here, attended by some 100 friends and committee members from the home.

The ceremony was kept simple, but it had all the traditions of a wedding that young couples go through.
There was the customary kissing of the bride, a cake-cutting session and a dance, besides the usual photo-taking opportunities. For the two senior citizens this is their first marriage. They had grown fond of each other in the two years that they lived at an old folks home in Jalan Residensi here.
Both later moved out.
Goh, formerly a clerical assistant in Kuala Lumpur, said he had been looking for a true companion all his life.
“I am lucky and happy to have finally found that someone,” he told reporters at the wedding ceremony.
He added that they decided to stay at Silver Jubilee as the home allowed married couples to live together.
“We are thankful to the management committee for arranging a wonderful wedding ceremony for us,” said Goh, who had popped the question to Sim early this year[rc]
