The policy aims at promoting the concept of productive and healthy ageing and to facilitate social interaction and socio-psychological support to elders, he said.
Giving details of the scheme, Yadav said that Rs 15,000 would be given to each club for purchase of furniture, besides a sum of Rs 50,000 would be given to each district for publicity of the scheme. [rc]

INDIA: Haryana state government to establish senior citizens' clubs

Haryana government will set up 1000 clubs for senior citizens for which Rs 160 million have been sanctioned.
