.
BANGALORE, Karnataka / The Hindu / Life & Style / December 15, 2009
The message of love and sharing was evident. The cold Sunday morning brought much warmth to thousands of people from the marginalised section of the city recently.
Abraham Ebenezer, founder of Ebenezer International School, Bangalore calls them the “most special ones.” For the tenth consecutive year, he invited people from orphanages, old-age homes, institutions for the visually impaired, physically challenged, HIV affected and street children for over Christmas fellowship lunch.
Over 4,000 people from 50 institutions were treated with much love, care and sharing by the smiling students of the school. They spread the meaning of Christmas. A sumptuous meal with a variety entertainment by the staff, students and also some of the invitees present brought much cheer and joy.
A state government minister, a member of Indian parliament, a judge of the High Court of Karnataka were among the invitees.
“What touches me the most is to see their bright smiling faces, year after year and I miss some of the familiar faces, as they are no more with us,” remarked Mr. Abraham Ebenezer. [rc]
