. CALGARY, Alberta / The Calgary Sun / September 23, 2009 By Katie Schneider, Sun Media Canadians prescribe pharmacists and doctors as the most trustworthy professions, a poll suggests. A Nanos Research poll found when it comes to honesty and ethics, Canadians rate physicians and pharmacists highest among 18 professions, which ranged from health-care professionals to business executives and legislators. While 77% of respondents viewed the ethics of medical doctors as high or very high, 73% of people polled said those of community pharmacists are top-notch. Jeff Poston, executive director of the Canadian Pharmacists Association, said the findings reinforces the profession's commitment to patients. "As health professionals advising patients on their personal health issues, nothing is more important to us than trust," he said. "It's vital that people feel they can talk to us in confidence and trust in the advice they receive."
