DUBAI, United Arab Emirates / Zawya News / June 26, 2009 The UAE government's Marine Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) hosted 15 persons, residents of Dubai Elderly House, in recreational cruises across Dubai Creek along the Tourist Line of the Water Bus. The elderly group was taken through the tourist service of the Water Bus starting from Al Seef Station to Al Shindagha Station and back to Al Seef Station. During the 40-minute trip, the group was introduced to tourist locations across the two shores of Dubai Creek. The group also visited the mini museum in the floating office at Al Seef Station which contains antique photos of Dubai emirate, mock-ups of antique ships, and some sailor accessories. "The Agency is keen to extend every care and attention to this category of elder people and merge them socially as they are integral segment of the UAE community that needs to be involved with others in having recreational trips," said an official. "The visit reflects the intention of the Marine Agency to maintain continuous links with the community and serve this special segment which warrants great care & effective attention," he added. At the end of the visit, gift items were presented to the residents of the Elderly House in an atmosphere of interaction and bondage between the two parties.
