Bulgarians, aged over 50, and those with secondary education account for the biggest share of the voter turnout in the European Parliament elections until midday, an exit poll shows.
Voter turnout is highest in the villages and district towns, according to data of Alpha Research polling agency.
According to the exit poll voters aged over 61 account for 32% of the people who have cast a ballot in the European elections in Bulgaria, while those aged between 51 and 60 make up 21%. The elections have apparently not quickened the pulse of young voters, aged between 18 and 30, who account for just 14% of all voters.
Nearly half of the voters, who cast a ballot until midday, have secondary education (49%). The second largest group of voters have university degree (34%).
