U.K: Evil Mugger has Sentence Increased
HARROW, London (ITN), August 15, 2008:
An "evil" mugger jailed for robbing a 96-year-old grandmother who died days later has had his sentence increased.
Michael Nartey, 26, will spend longer behind bars after he admitted carrying out other attacks on elderly women.

as evil as you will be watching them'
- Judge Peter Clarke

Nartey targeted Mary Ann Sear on her birthday in May last year. She was walking back to her home in Harrow, north west London.
Mrs Sear, who used a walking stick, fell to the ground breaking her shoulder and hip after Nartey snatched her handbag.
Less than a week later the great-grandmother suffered a heart attack in hospital and died.
Nartey was jailed indefinitely with a minimum term of four-and-half years by a judge in September.
He has since admitted robbing handbags from 78-year-old Elizabeth Jones, 86-year-old Peggy Marsland and 87-year-old Linda Martin.
He targeted all of his victims targeted at their homes in London.
Judge Peter Clarke said he had narrowly avoided a life sentence by pleading guilty on the eve of his Old Bailey trial.
The judge then increased the previous minimum term to six years.
The judge told him: "In their last years, these women will always worry for their safety and will never venture outside their front doors without the fear that somebody as evil as you will be watching them, wanting to repeat the offence."
