PAKISTAN: Senior citizens’ welfare plan to be launched

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (The Post), August 29, 2008: The Ministry of Social Welfare and Special Education will launch a programme for welfare of senior citizens to allay their sense of isolation. As part of such efforts, a source in the ministry said on Thursday that consultations with experts were also held to thrash out effective recommendations to fully capitalise on the project for the welfare of elderly people. The source said the ministry had geared up its efforts to prepare the project while taking other relevant ministries such as Ministry of Population Welfare on board to effectively extend blessings of the programme to the targeted persons. © Copy Rights Reserved The Post
