INDIA: 80-yr-old pursues a dream of learning - 60 years after leaving school

NAGPUR, Maharashtra (The Times of India), August 23, 2008:
She passed her matriculation in 1948 as student of St Ursula Girls High School. Now, 60 years later, she has admitted herself in the first year BA course of Yeshwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University and aims to complete her graduation. Meet Shakuntala Panjabrao Gote, 80, a social worker who is out to prove there is really no age limit for acquiring knowledge.

For Shakuntala, acquiring the BA degree will not be the end. She will apply for admission into five year LL.B course at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar University College of Law and become a lawyer.
