USA: 35 elderly Mainers to be honoured

AUGUSTA, Maine (Maine Today), April 3, 2008: The Maine Health Care Association on Friday will honor the accomplishments of 35 people living in the state’s long term care facilities. Gov. John Baldacci is scheduled to help present certificates of lifetime achievement in the Statehouse Hall of Flags. The ceremony is part of a photography exhibit called “Remember ME” which will feature the photographs of the citizens. Those being honored are decorated war veterans, mothers and fathers, nurses, doctors, teachers, legislators, engineers and small business owners, according to the association. The project is designed to remind the public of the “selfless contributions of our elderly and disabled citizens who now depend on others for their care and safety.” Copyright © 2008, Blethen Maine Newspapers, Inc.
