GRAND FORKS, North Dakota
(Grand Forks Herald),
March 8, 2008:
Myrtle Lovly
still can remember,
clear as a bell,
the first new dress
she ever got.
It was her “first” Christmas, as she calls it. Which is pretty good, because Myrtle Lovly turns 101, today March 8. She got her new dress the same year Germany started what later was called World War I.
Friday, Myrtle attended a morning prayer service in the chapel in the Good Samaritan Heritage Grove home in East Grand Forks, where she’s lived since she turned 100.
