AUSTRALIA: More elderly vanish

BRISBANE (Brisbane Times), March 14, 2008: Someone goes missing in Australia every 15 minutes, a report shows. In releasing the research by the Australian Institute of Criminology, the federal Minister for Home Affairs, Bob Debus, said the information would help identify groups at risk of disappearing and provide guidance on preventive measures. More older people are going missing as the population ages. Of the 35,000 people who go missing annually about 90 per cent are found within a week. Copyright © 2008. Brisbane Times.
