USA: Millions Of Low-Income Seniors To Get Tax Rebates

WACO, Texas (KWTX News), February 14, 2008: Millions of low-income senior citizens are eligible for rebates under the economic stimulus plan signed yesterday by President Bush. However, in order to get their check in the mail they must file a 2007 federal tax return. That requirement could cause complications, and expense, for some seniors who typically don't file because they don't earn enough. The IRS and AARP (The American Association of Retired Persons) both say they will make special efforts, including airing television and radio spots to ensure seniors know what they need to do.
