NEW ZEALAND: British Man, Aged 101, Allowed To Stay

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (NewsTalk ZB), February 14, 2008: An elderly Briton who was to be deported will now be allowed to stay in New Zealand. The 101-year-old man was denied residency and was to be sent back to the UK, despite his only living relative being a New Zealand resident. Immigration Minister Clayton Cosgrove asked officials to take another look at the situation. Immigration officials have now agreed to let the man become a resident so he can stay in New Zealand with his son. Copyright Radio Network 2008
