INDIA: Two Seniors In Kerala Hospitals Commit Suicide

KANNUR, Kerala (IANS), February 14, 2008: Unable to bear the pain of ill health, two senior citizens in Kerala committed suicide in two hospitals here on Thursday. A.P. Krishnan, 60, jumped to death from the top floor of the Thalassery Government Hospital, around 20 km from here, while Kariyatt Ananthan, also 60, inflicted a wound on his stomach and bled to death at Indira Gandhi Hospital, the police said. Aananthan was suffering from cancer, a hospital official told IANS. Ananthan's body was found in the hospital's bathroom, a police official said. Krishnan's nephew told the police that he was admitted to the hospital three days ago due to breathing trouble.
