The Bihar state government has decided to open one day-care centre in each of the districts of the state. The purpose will be to help senior citizens and ensure a health care system for them.
According to Vijay Prakash, the principal secretary of the welfare department the state has started the process and has released Rs Two crore (Twenty Million) as a part of the first instalment towards the centres.
Pix: Manish Kumar The day care centres for aged people would have libraries with religious books, newspapers, magazines and journals. Besides, there will be yoga trainers and doctors for regular health check ups.
Each centre will function under the direct supervision of the district magistrate and will have separate space for men and women. There will be especial toilets, bathrooms and restrooms for them. The centres will not have any stairs to climb nor any non-slippery floors, he said.
