SRI LANKA: Business Community Honours Seniors As 'National Assets'

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (Asian Tribune), February 6, 2007: For the first time in the history of the Kaduwela area business community, civil servants and other regional business organizations of the Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat Division will honor three prestigious senior citizens who voluntarily serve the people. Three social workers have been nominated out of some 500 profiles of seniors who did a yeomen service to boost agriculture, cooperative service and provincial administration. “Our aim is to support senior citizens of the area and protect them as national assets,” said an official of the community societies foundation.
