FRANCE: Camille Loiseau, Oldest Person In France, Dies Aged 114
PARIS, August 18, 2006:
Camille Loiseau, the oldest person in France since March last year, has died in a hospital near Paris aged 114 years and six months, it was reported today.
She had celebrated her last birthday in February "with a little Champagne", and was known right to the end of her life for her humour and flirtatiousness, staff said at the hospital in Villejuif.
The oldest person in France now is "probably" 112-year-old Marie Mornet who lives in the western town of Poitou-Charentes, the Paris- based Institute of Health and Medical Research said.
