SPAIN: Fifty Four Senior Citizens Go On Sierra Natural Park Walk
ANTAS, Costa De Almeria, Malaga (The Euro Weekly News), May 31, 2006:
Fifty four senior citizens of Antas were taken to La Alpujarra in the Sierra Nevada natural park so that they could get fit while socialising and enjoying their free time.

The 54 elderly people to be taken to this popular area of natural beauty were able to enjoy another of the activities being held as part of the Walking Club which allows them to get to know cultural and social aspects of the surrounding area.
Another reason for the organisation of these walks by Antas council is, according to spokeswoman, Juana Mari Saez, to promote ‘that senior citizens can enjoy days out together to have conversation and exchange experiences’.
The walk participants, who belong to the elderly associations of Los Antenses de Antas and Virgen de las Huertas de Aljariz, enjoyed bus journeys to and from the destination, a meal, guides and even an emergency loo.
