INDIA: Rajasthan Offers Big Hotel Discounts to Senior Citizens

JAIPUR, Rajasthan (IndiaeNews.com), May 26, 2006: The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) has announced cuts in its hotel tariffs for senior citizens to prop up sagging occupancy rates, Rakesh Saini, managing director, RTDC announced today. The desert state with its magnificent forts, stunning palaces and temples that hark back to a royal past, and colourful cultural mélange is a favourite haunt of both domestic and foreign tourists. Under the new initiative, tourists over 60 years of age would be given a 20 percent discount in room tariffs during the tourist season from September 1 to March 31.
