INDIA: New Bombay To Get Senior Citizens Welfare Complex

VASHI, New Bombay (Vashi2Panvel.Com), May 27, 2006: The senior citizens of Navi Mumbai are more empowered now. CIDCO has allotted them a plot in Nerul in sector-12 Nerul (W) to construct the Jyeshtha Nagrik Bhawan (Senior Citizens Complex). Jyeshtha Nagrik Sangh, Nerul and All India Senior Citizens’ Confederation (AIISCC) have sponsored activities of this Association by taking up projects for senior citizens. “Navi Mumbai is a city of 21st century and easily approachable from all sides. We have 430 members from Nerul. Hence Nerul is the ideal place for constructing a welfare centre,” says the Association. The Association has received a 500 sq-mt plot for a 3-storey building that would include a day care centre, library, night study etc. So far donations totalling Rs.1.2 Million have been collected.
