CANADA: Two Seniors Caught with Marijuana Grow-Ops

NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario (National Post), February 23, 2006: Two seniors avoided charges Wednesday after police in Niagara Falls busted a marijuana growing operation. Police, acting on an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen, found four rooms being used to produce marijuana. Police seized marijuana plants in various stages of growth and equipment used in the production of the drug. But they did not lay charges, saying they believed the marijuana was being grown to relieve the pain of a cancer patient. Police said one room in the basement contained about 16 plants.
