NEW DELHI, July 29, 2005: Post Lunch Proceedings of the Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Parliament) THE VICE-CHAIRMAN (PROF. P.J. KURIAN): I wish to take the sense of the House. Mr. Santosh Bagrodia has requested that since he has got an urgent work to attend, he may be allowed to introduce his Bills listed against his name out of turn. THE DESTITUTE AND NEEDY SENIOR CITIZENS (CARE, PROTECTION AND WELFARE) BILL, 2005 SHRI SANTOSH BAGRODIA (RAJASTHAN): Sir, I beg to move for leave to introduce a Bill to provide for proper care of senior citizens who are destitute by their kith and kins and the Government and for protection of lonely or old couples by way of appropriate security measures by local police, and for other welfare measures and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. (Ends) THE NEEDY AND NEGLECTED SENIOR CITIZENS AND ORPHANS AND RUNAWAY CHILDREN (CARE, REHABILITATION AND WELFARE) BILL, 2005 SHRI SANTOSH BAGRODIA (RAJASTHAN): Sir, I beg to move for leave to introduce a Bill to provide for the care, maintenance and other welfare measures to be undertaken by the Union and State Governments for the needy and neglected senior citizens who cannot maintain themselves or who have been neglected by their children for economic and other compelling reasons and for the care, rehabilitation and welfare measures for the orphans and runaway street children by the State through education and other means and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.
